Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has hinted at a possible fight against Deontay Wilder in 2024, as the two heavyweights look to get another title shot.
Joshua lost all three of his championship belts to Oleksandr Usyk and was unable to reclaim them in a rematch, but he has made a comeback by winning his last two fights.
Wilder, meanwhile, lost his WBC heavyweight title to Tyson Fury and has since staged a famous trilogy with the Gypsy King.
Both Joshua and Wilder are keen to get back into the world title mix, and a fight between the two would be one of the biggest heavyweight bouts in recent years.
Joshua suggests double-header with Fury-Usyk clash
Joshua has also suggested that the fight could be part of an ambitious double-header, with heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk also set to take part in the undisputed showdown.
"They wanted to put Usyk Fury, Joshua Wilder on the same night. That may not be until April," Joshua said.
Fury's next fight is against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who is set to make his boxing debut in a bout with no world title restrictions.
"It would have been late October, early November when Fury beat Ngannou, so I suspect it's too short a time for him to be preparing for Usyk now and then fight in December," Joshua added.
Joshua added: "So the next window could be March to April, so that could be when the uncontested fight could happen.
"Obviously what we've been told is that they want to make this a big fight and they like Joshua against Wilder as well."
A double-header featuring Joshua vs Wilder and Fury vs Usyk would be one of the biggest boxing events of all time, and would be a fitting way to crown the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
